Heard this on the way home this morning. Was battling brain cancer.

Rest in peace good sir.

Well at least he won't have to see another Freddy remake ever again.

He was so involved in so many projects right up until yesterday. I'm kind of still in disbelief. May he rest in peace.

i will miss him SO Much. i LOVED his personality & his sense of humour. he told great stories off & on the big screen. i feel emptier now with his passing, my heart feels lonelier. the following poem is roughly from around the time Wes was born.

W. H. Auden

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead,
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood.
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

p.s..Rest in Paradise my lovely Wes. i will never forget you.
& Thanks for being true to your hear with "music of the heart". haters always lose, that's why you'll live forever & they won't..xxx

Love that poem. Crushed by yesterdays news.

Freddy is my favorite fictional character ever, sue me, I hate that they butchered him so badly over the course of sequels and the reboot. I know deep down Wes never got to make the very, very dark version he wanted to, so if the powers that be are hell bent on bringing Freddy back I hope they do it in the way Wes wanted it. They...owe him that much.

I still don't know what to say. Rest in peace, Mr. Craven. We will all be thinking of you this Halloween.
